The Showdown in the Valley
The Israelites were at war with the Philistines. Each army was camped on opposite sides of a valley. The Philistines had a secret weapon: a giant warrior named Goliath, over nine feet tall!
Goliath challenged the Israelites to send their best warrior to fight him. The winner would decide the battle. But all the Israelite soldiers were too afraid to face him.
